The Mossley Academy put in a poor performance as they lost 5-2 at Mickleover Sports Blacks on Wednesday.

After a week off for half term the Academy made the trip to Mickleover and it wasn't their day at all. Straight from the kick off within 10 seconds Mickleover made it 1-0 with a near post finish by Connah Ward.

Mossley was second best to everything and were punished even more when the Mickleover number 7 went through on goal, his shot was pushed onto the bar by keeper Sattar with the Mickleover player Tariq getting the rebound 2-0.

A very late tackle by the Mickleover number 7 resulted in a yellow card and soon after Prince Owusu grabbed his 16th goal of the season making it 2-1

Mossley tried to get back into the game but when a offside flag stayed down the Mickleover player Ward was in to make it 3-1 before the half.

Mossley started the second half a bit brighter and they were rewarded when Antonio Din Chin made it 3-2, but it only got worse from there on as Mickleover soon replied with an over the top ball finding the Murphy who made it I 4-2 .

Soon after the Mossley goalkeeper made a mistake as he mis-kicked the ball and the Mickleover player Murphy had an empty net to slot into to make it 5-2.

The frame didn't stop there as the Mickleover player was on a yellow already and he had been warned by the referee when going head to head with the Mossley player Norris after the Mickleover player stamped on him. The referee sent the Mickleover player off with 10 minutes to go.

A bad result for the Academy in what was their poorest performance of the season
